have a 90 pound Akita and a 60 pound Jindo (Korean dog, much like the Akita). I have often walked them together with two leashes...I bought ReadyLeash to have a more comfortable handle and to attach two short leashes to the same handle. I got the XtraLeash at the same time. These are rated for medium to large dogs. Three days into use...maybe a half dozen walks, I'm standing with the two dogs looking at a couple deer in the woods across the lane from my home...boom, the metal nipple holding the leash to the handle ring gives way and my Akita is off. The Jindo, btw, is by far more the aggressive puller. My wife takes the handle and I am off through wet and rainy woods after my Akita.
All ends well, but in terms of mean time between failure, this does not cut it. The woods were merely wet, a road could have been deadly.
I have stress-tested the other leash and it seems to be OK. The handle on ready-leash is very comfortable and the pick-up bag feature works well.
My experience may be an anomaly, but I would recommend some good strong pulls to check out the strength of the connection, particularly if you have strong dogs who may check it out themselves...
