I first used this on my dad's 90 lb ridgeback who I walked with my 85lb dog. Needless to say, if they saw a squirrel I had to run after it as well and it was of course a huge risk if we all had to run in the middle of the road. The dog can still pull with this, but he hasn't been able to have more control than me with this harness. I now use it on a 50+lb hound mix puppy I just rescued. I first used the gentle leader for her since the shelter was using one, but she would spend most of the walk trying to get it off and since she has droopy eyes (a hound) I didn't think it was good for her to be rubbing her paws near her eyes so much since she could get an infection. So I got one of these harnesses for her as well. I find it works just as well as the gentle leaders, but the dogs don't seem to mind having them on as much as those. Keep in mind that they tend to love to chew on the strap on the front if they can get their mouth around it (i.e. in the car etc). Both my dad's dog and her have chewed through them. So keep them supervised if you keep them on when they're not walking for some reason. Also, for my dad's dog the chafing of the straps caused his hair to be shorter in some spots, but I haven't noticed this on my new dog.Get more detail about Easy Walk Harness - Large, Red.
